I have had Whippets for over 40 years and bred under the kennel prefix “Alery”. I have been privileged to have bred some very nice dogs in that time span. One of my favourites was Am. & Can. Ch. Alery White Warlock, who was by Am. & Can. Ch. Morshor’s Whirlaway out of Ch. Winterfold Shining Hour. One of the nicest bitches that I bred was Am. & Can. Ch. Alery Which Witchs’ Which who was a delight to watch moving. I later had Am. & Can. Ch. Astrologer of Alery who was a Specialty winner in the USA.
I have owned Afghans, Silky Terriers and of course Whippets for many years.
I have been judging shows since 1976 here in Canada and have been able to judge around the world and see many breeds in many different countries along the way. I have judged in Australia, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, USA and of course here in Canada. It has always been a pleasure to see dogs in different countries and assess them. My favourite thing is that we get to meet many people, from around the world who also judge. I stay in touch with many of them through this “thing”.

Einar Paulsen
I was born in Norway in 1961 and my first dog was a Cocker Spaniel which my parents bought for me as a child. When I was 16 years old I bought a Newfoundland and two years later I got another one. This was a bitch with show potential and I bred my first two litters and registered my Cannonbear prefix in Norway before I moved to Denmark in 1991. Since then I have bred 1–2 litters of Newfoundlands a year. I have owned and bred nine Newfoundland World Winners and have numerous times been Newfoundland breeder of the year in Denmark. I co-owned Dog of the year all breeds in DK some years ago.
I became a judge in 1996 and I am passed for a number of breeds in group 2 and 8. I have judged in all the Nordic countries, several countries in Europe and in the US. I am judging Bernese Mountain Dogs at the big Stockholm show in 2014; a challenge I am looking very much forward to.

Frank Kane
Frank Kane showed his first dog, a cocker spaniel, as a schoolboy in 1962 and has been involved in the dog world ever since. Whilst at university he made up two Sealyham Terriers in partnership, into UK champions. After university in 1972 he bought his two foundation bitches in American cockers as the foundation for his Hirontower kennel. One of these became a champion and both bred champions.
Frank became a championship show judge in the UK in 1974. He is now approved by the UK Kennel Club to judge all groups and Best in Show. In 2012 he judged Best in Show at Crufts. Frank is Chairman of the Breed Standards committee in the UK. For the past 10 years he has been part of the television commentary team at Crufts.
Author of three books on dogs and a regular contributor to the canine press, Frank still finds tme for other hobbies, especially in the horse world where he is an occasional judge.
Fred Peddie
For as long as he can remember, Fred has had a passion for purebred dogs. This perhaps was manifested by his reading of “My Own Brucie” at which point he was determined to emulate the author and win Westminster.
Since that point he as bred internationally award winning Chows having the Top Dog in three countries simultaneously. His most famous Chow was Can.Am. Ch. Mi-Tu’s Han Su Shang,a group winner at Westminster, winner of 2 US National Specialties, and the Top Dog All-Breeds in Canada. Many of Shang’s children went on to win international titles as well as many US & Canadian Specialty Shows.
Moving from Chows, saw the introduction to French Bulldogs (early ‘80’s). Thanks to the assistance from De La Parure kennels, he has had 4 World Winners, the top bulldog in Holland, and multiple specialty show wins in Europe. Omar Sharif de la Parure is his most notable, followed by Colonel Trussardi de la Parure and Zenith de la Parure, both world champions.\
Today his household is ruled by two Frenchies, and his busy judging life has seen him officiate at shows around the world. He was honoured to have judged Frenchie Specialties in Canada, the United States,Austria and Taiwan, and this past year he had the prestigious honour of judging Frenchie Males and BOB at the WDS in Budapest.

Göran Bodegård
I got my first show dog when I was 13 – a deerhound. Spent some summers as a teenager in England working with dogs and getting my basic British dog know how. I started breeding greyhound 1966 after having bred some litters of deerhounds. My greatest achievement was the greyhound bitch bred by me and Bo Bengtson, Ch Piruett, becoming dog of the year 1975 in Sweden.
My greyhound breeding covers nine consecutive generations and last year added a new litter from my old lines. I am co breeding (and thus no prefix). The breeding has produced some very important brood bitches and stud dogs and founding the dynasty of Scandinavian greyhounds dominating the scene and influencing the breed both in England and the States.
Judging since 1966 – FCI all breed judge since 1997. Judged Crufts, FCI World shows, Australian Royal Agriculture Shows, repeatedly CC level in England. AKC/Eukanuba invitational USA, Eurasia Show Russia and FCI Asian International Dog Show in Tokyo and Contest of Champions in England and so on. BIS assignments in US, Europe, Australia, Asia, South America. Judging about 30 to 40 shows a year (all over the world).
The last twenty months especially noteworthy are the Sydney Royal (April 2012) the FCI World Shows in Austria (2012) and Hungary (2013) The Finnish, Norwegian, Iceland and Swedish National Winner shows; FCI European Winner, Birmingham National CC, Richmond CC. Major CACIB shows in Portugal, France, Slovenia Peru Switzerland, the Scandinavian countries, Greece and Italy.
I have been president of the Swedish Greyhound Club and board member of the Swedish Sighthound Club. At present member of the central board of the Swedish Kennel Club, and earlier chairman of the Standard Committee of the Swedish Kennel Club. I am a member of the English Kennel Club.
Since 2007 I am the chairman of the working group of the Swedish Kennel Club for development of the preventive program against the risks of extreme types in show dogs jeopardizing the health and soundness. This has resulted in the document Breed Specific Instructions (BSI) regarding exaggerations in pedigree dogs where 46 breeds listed. This project is now part of the routine in Sweden and has become a model for other countries building up the strategy for repairing health and soundness of purebred dogs. The project is expanding towards a common Scandinavian program. I have lectured about our experience at the centennial of the FCI in November 2011 and at the FCI conference in Paris 2014.
I am a paediatrician, psychoanalyst and child psychiatrist (Stockholm Medical University of Karolinska Institute) – semi retired – at present involved in research and clinical work with seriously ill and disturbed refugee children from central Asian and former Soviet republics. Got a prestigious award for this work and appointed the (still unofficial) whistle blower for the work for these unfortunate immigrants. Love opera and as a child I have heard Jussi Björling, Birgit Nilsson and Maria Callas (at Covent Garden 1958).
Hassi Assenmacher-Feyel
I have been a FCI-judge since 1975 and I am registered in the Germanjudging list. I am specialist for 63 different breeds and in 1987 I qualified as an allrounder.
I started breeding Basset Hounds about 35 years ago. My bitch was the first Basset Hound of all FCI-countries to achieve the title "Champion International de Beaute". My first male Basset Hound won 13 Champion-titles and was awarded 3 working certificates.
As I always longed to have a big dog, on behalf of my birthday in the year 1985 my husband surprised me with a Doberman. This dog, Graf Guido vom Franckenhorst, bred in the Netherlands held 20 Champion-titles in 13 different countries and sired many bitches coming from almost all parts of the world with the result of more than
1 600 puppies.
We Iived in South Africa for five years, but after the death of my husband I moved back to Germany in 2003.
I have judged in nearly all parts of the world, for instance in Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Belarus, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Croatia, Czech. Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kasachstan, Kenya, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Ukraine, USA and Zimbabwe.
This is not the frrst time I am judging in Sweden. I am looking forward to this show.

Jürgen Rösner
With my partner Jürgen Papenfuß I started in Irish Wolfhounds in the year 1973 followed later by Deerhounds, Whippets and Greyhounds. In all those years we kept close contact, even making friends with many of the old
breeders, trying to learn as much as possible from them, watching them judge and going to all the big shows in Britain.
We relied on the expert judgement of longstanding breeders. Ruth and Leslie Jenkins ‘Eaglescrag’n, Susan Hudson ‘Brabyns’, Mesdames Harrison and Atfield ‘Sanctuary’, Ms. Anastasia Noble ‘Ardkinglas’, Mrs. Glenis Peach ‘Kilbourne’, and the friendly advice of Bil Siggers ‘Ouborough’. The co-operation in later years with Dagmar Kenis ‘Solstrand’ and Pamela and Jim Paloma ‘Erinwood’, combined with the exchange of stud dogs resulted in many fine Wolfhounds.
In over 30 years we bred more than 300 champions in all four breeds. German and international in 21 different countrys, 12 world winners, over 40 Bundes- and Europasieger, BIS at our 2 biggest shows like Bundessieger und Europasieger, countless group winners and BIS at Specialtys. Oelmühle hounds are exported in 24 countrys. My judging of the two breeds, Scottish Deerhounds and Irish Wolfhounds, started in the beginning of 1982. I’ve judged as breeder-judge at CH-Shows like Bundessieger and Europasieger, important shows like Paris and Vienna, Clubshows in England, Ireland, North Ireland, Scandinavia, Sweden, Skokloster, the World-Show in Stockholm, Netherlands, Switzerland, and the United States at the West- and Eastcoast and Canada. In 2007 I was honored by the German Kennel Club (VDH) for our outstanding breeding of Irish Wolfhounds over many years, and awarded the “Baron von Gingins” medal.

Lisbeth Mach
I have lived with dogs since my childhood. Our family has always had some miniature schnauzers for catching mice and rats in our thoroughbred horses stable. A brown miniature poodle came into my life 1961 and became my first international champion that’s how I got interested in dog shows. Before my wedding in 1968 we were joined by a Barsoi, Orlow´s Kafkas, and he also won the title of a international champion. I have bred more than 65 international champions and 25 world champions. Many Best in Show winners and group winner, all under my kennel name Superstar. Also to be mentioned the first Swiss bred American champion, Superstar´s Bolero, handled by Densis McCoin. At present my fourth Barsoi, international champion Sirhan Puskhin Antonovitch from Canada, lives together with three miniature poodles.
Fascinated by the show atmosphere, I decided to go into judging. In 1961 I passed the examination by the Swiss Kennel Club and received my license as a poodle judge. I continued my training and shortly afterwards I was allowed to judge other lovely breeds. Since 2008 I am an allrounder and special judge of 50 different breeds. I suppose that excellent quality of the poodles, which I myself have bred and handled for many years in Europe, helped me to obtain confidence as a judge.
For the last 20 years I have had an opportunity to judge at the most important shows in Europe and other parts of the world. After 30 years of judging I’m still full of motivation when I stand in the ring. I love and enjoy seeing all these wonderful dogs and it is very exciting ´to compare the different quality between countries or even continents.

Svein Bjarne Helgesen
I started to breed English cocker spaniel in the middle of 1970. Later I also started breeding Lhasa Apso. I´ve owned and bred about 60 champions under the prefix TANAC.
I was also the owner of Bamsevinner in 1986, what we call the top winning dog of all breeds in Norway. It was my Lhasa Apso, Saxonspring Fol De Rol. My own bred English cocker spaniel, Tanac New Fachion, was number two top winning in 1984 and the top winning Spaniel in Norway for five years.
I started to judge dogs in 1990 and become New All Rounder in Norway in 2012. I have judged in most of the countries in Europe as well as Russia, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Canada and Israel.
Svein Bjørnes
My name is Svein Bjørnes, I was born in 1968 in Norway and lived there until 1996. Then I moved to Copenhagen and met my partner, which I am living with. In 2003 we found interest in the beautiful breed, Coton de Tulear.
We fell in love with the beautiful breed, and found a breeder here in Denmark who has been a breeder for many years and our first dog was found. After almost two years with dog shows in the Nordic countries with him, we needed to have one more and started to look after a female of the same breed. We found her in Spain from the famous Woodland Cottage breeder, but in the same time we also got a beautiful Coton de Tulear male from the breeder Tidelidee´s in Norway and we still have great success with those dogs.
We have been traveling around Europe – Nordic – and the world, and we have met a lot of very nice people and also made new contact with many dog friends all over the world. We have brought home both Europe, World Winners and Multi Champion titles and a lot of trophies.
In our home we also have one beautiful Lhasa Apso, from a very good breeder in Denmark, that we have been showing and until further got Junior World Winner and Multi Champion titles and WVV Title 2014. One Miniature Poodle is also in our family, right now he is a family dog. A new member has arrived to our family, a Tibetan Terrier on 5 months! Our dogs are living in our house, as fully members of our family.
I started on my judge education in 2008, and in 2011 I was authorized for the five breeds in the Bichon family. I have been judging officials and unofficials shows in Denmark as well as other Nordic and Europian countries.
Tiina Illukka
I have been involved in dog breeding (kennel Caballus) and dog showing for over 40 years. I started with Dalmatians. Since 1986 I have owned and bred Curly Coated Retrievers, my main breed of interest. I have also bred Jack Russell Terriers and Gordon Setters. I have bred five English Champions (three full champions in Curlies) and the Gordon Setter record holder (36 CC’s) in males in UK.
My profession is a veterinarian and my special interest is in reproduction: artificial insemination and semen freezing. I have a canine semen bank, Vetmasters at Petvet Clinic in Turku, Finland.
I have been FCI judge since 1993. Currently I am judging group 7 and 8, and parts of group 3 and 6. I have judged the Breed Speciality of Curly Coats in Australia, Britain and USA and all Gundogs in most European countries and Russia.
Personally I prefer outdoor life with dogs and spend my free time hiking and biking in the summer and skiing in the winter. I train my Curlies for working and I want to keep it a dual purpose breed.
Valerio Nataletti
My life has always been influenced by a poodle. I remember very well a miniature black poodle named GIOK (dog of an unknown origin) who lived in the house were I was born. When I was a little more grown up, a brown standard poodle came (at that time standard poodle were maximum 55 cm tall and not a stall as nowadays). This poodle was coming out from a renowned Italian brown poodle breeding dell AGABAM famous for that colour. His breeder was Miss Carla Gallazzi, a typical personage.
After one dog came in our house for the first time, a white standard poodle from the french breeding du Grand Jeu of Mr Holy, my life with white poodles started. My starting as an exhibiter was accidental; my mother, who was taking care of the dog, got sick and I brought the dog to be groomed. Just before us on the grooming table was a white poodle groomed in a way that I had never seen before.
I asked the groomer which breed it was and he answered it was the same breed of my dog, but groomed "continental stile" because it used to be presented at dog shows. I did not even know that beauty contests for dogs existed, beside those for girls. The groomer told me that if I whished he could groom my dog in the same way. So it happened! I started showing in 1956 at Terminillo show (near Rome) judged by a nice judge from Milano Dr. Pierangelo Pesce. From that moment my adventure as an exhibiter began, and later as a breeder and finally as a judge.
During my "dogloving" life, I have produced Italian and International champions; Swiss, Montecarlo, France (six of it not easy at call for that moment) European, Worldwide, St. Marino, Austria, etc. In 1961 ENCI and FCI granted me for the affix DELLA GENS VALERIA. I was part of the C.C.C. (Club of the breeds of 9°group) from its start when Marquise Maria Luisa Bourbon del Monte (Pekingese breeder "di Capalbio") was chairman, becoming member of the committee of the club when Mrs. Tina Violi became chairman. She has been my teacher and I have learned everything i know about dogs from her!
For several years I have been a member of the committee of the Gruppo Cinofilo Romano, organizing roman dog show (they where really beautiful) at Villa Borghese and Parco dei Daini. Encouraged by Mrs. Violi in the seventies I passed my examinations at the E.N.C.I. to become a poodle judge.
During my career I have judged all over Europe, europian champion, worldwide, national d'elevage in France, Russian, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Czech rep, Hungary, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Holland, Ireland, Danemark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Ukraine, Croatia, Slovenjia, etc. and soon not only poodles, but also for all the 9° group of toy breeds, that I have judged since 1994.
